Anthem shows a huge potential, but leaves us a sour taste due to many shortcomings like lack of variety, an underwhelming story and a poor end-game. There’s a good game somewhere in Anthem. ... Xbox One. Hopefully in the next few months, when BioWare starts launching its post-launch content and quality of life fixes, the game will become what it’s meant to be. I am sorry to say that Anthem has fallen short in pretty much every way.
We hope in time BioWare will be able to enrich the game and fulfill his true potential.

As a multiplayer game, the combat here is fun, but heading back to Fort Tarsis to grab the next quest becomes a chore; I found myself fast-forwarding as much dialogue as possible so I could get back into battle. PC

Anthem impresses on the presentation front and the javelin suits are a blast to play with, but a lack of diversity in the game and uninspired loot-driven progression system make it feel like Anthem could be a much better game than it currently is with a few updates. The PvE-only aspect is a nice touch, and it’s refreshing in a world where so many games like to focus on pitting player against player.
