Are we going to get an even more grounded and realistic Batman?As far as I know this movie is completely standalone, as in it has no ties to any DC Cinematic Universe movies.If it wasn’t a select few references, I’d think this was just a separate movie about a guy who works as a clown that goes insane.
As much of a confusing decision making a Joker standalone movie is, I like the tone from this trailer.The idea of giving the Joker, a character partially defined by the fact that he doesn't have a specific backstory, an origin story still seems completely insane to me. Joker.

And to be honest if it were for first impressions only i would say i'm prefer this over Ledger's Joker.I'm actually open to the idea of a standalone Joker movie.

Times are tough and, due to his issues and occupation, Arthur has an even worse time than most. Not just Killing Joke, I quite liked Brian Azzarello's Joker which also featured a self-contained universe with its own version of the Joker.Plus, I like the MCU and all but you sorta get the idea that they all follow a general formula/thematic tone.
