Isabel's character is emotionless I think it shows emptiness in the story....Imagine meeting your abandoned child in the day of her wedding. With Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Billy Crudup, Abby Quinn. What surprised me about this film is that the protagonist is a woman, Isabel, portrayed by Michelle Williams. Was this review helpful? Was this review helpful? There is a somewhat foreseable twist and the classic 'bad guy ain't that bad' and thats about it. Both should have not be casted in the movie. The "Snyder Cut" is here! The musical score and the cinematography made this film even more delightful. I definitely want to see the Danish version now! Her leap of faith takes her on an epic adventure that jump-starts her life and leads to her triumphant rediscovery.

However the film becomes complex and twist when secrets are revealed as it's really not a family celebration. Ignore the unfavourable reviews if you like literary films that explore character flaws in depth. He had attempted a number of projects to assist orphans, including child prostitutes - all quite in vain. This movie is a remake of a Danish movie that I reviewed in 2007.

A neo-nazi sentenced to community service at a church clashes with the blindly devotional priest. I walked in without knowing much more aside from its stellar cast, including Julianne Moore (one of my all-time favourites), Michelle Williams, Billy Crudup and Will Chase.

This movie is certainly not "Father of the Bride" or "Four Weddings and a Funeral", although an early scene comically shows Julianne Moore singing along to Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" in her car. Quite unconventionally, Anna also decides to make a speech - it is this speech that will shatter Jacob's world, slowly make him realize that this invitation to Copenhagen was a ploy to not only ensnare him but also prevent him from returning to India.

A manager of an orphanage in India is sent to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he discovers a life-altering family secret. The writing is excellent and, as the movie progresses, the motivations are revealed, not always to the credit of the character. Michelle Williams seems to be in a giant sulk in almost all of her scenes - it is as if she is in some sort of vacuum. If Moore's character had devised the meeting of the orphanage worker, I could buy it.

Cried twice. "At a clear day you can see New Jersey but who wants to see that" doesn't make sense here! Now I understand why so many things seem shallow. It was a blast of emotion that felt plunked in somewhere. Top-notch acting by top notch actors.

The Danish movie is better. After the Wedding (2019) is a U.S. film written and directed by Bart Freundlich.

Nothing special, nothing memorable.
