Was this review helpful? It isn't perfect of course, but it's a more than decent film. It just shows the life in the hood and the things that come with it, but nah aiint nothing special. He stood up for his child, and saw that not being there like his father would turn his sun into another product of this vicious cycle, which something we applaud where I'm from. I read a review that 'All Night and a Day' has the potential to displace 'Dangerous Lies' which incidentally was a gripping, slow burn thriller. 46 out of 66 found this helpful. She hires two charming gunrunners as help, but they suspect her shady competitor. All Day and a Night is a weightier alternative to the average Netflix original and while imperfectly realised and scrappily plotted at times, it’s another promising sign that, away from the easy-to-digest content, there’s room on the platform for much much more. Mako Kamitsuna's editing is bold in the sense that it forces the audience to make the connections between scenes. It is not a film that glorifies violence, or gangs, or drugs, but a film that portraits a picture we know is real, but maybe not everybody is ready to accept. A detective with a strong fear of the dark swaps places with his fugitive twin brother every night in order to investigate a series of brutal murders. Hood drama done very predictably, reminds me why I prefer documentaries over underwhelming story telling.

Filmed in Tel Aviv, alleged comedy concerns wealthy ranch owner Sally Kellerman locking up access to the water well on her land until the villagers confess who murdered her husband; Tony Curtis and Louis Gossett Jr. are American mercenaries who try talking her out of it before the government gets involved (Curtis also likes Kellerman's 19-year-old daughter while Gossett gets a yen for the lady boss). Edit. What some may view as your stereotypical black film goes beyond that.
Good supporting cast includes Neile Adams (looking like a cross between Carol Haney and a young Liza Minnelli) as Joan Blondell's daughter, and Julie Wilson as a torchy singer who comes on like Patti Page. Extremely powerful picture. Jean Simmons (a school teacher) takes a secretarial job in a nightclub.
