While in the "regular" Avengers the faults are mostly only mentioned, now they are full part of the story. Well, you can't find it in theatres. The Ultimates were formed as a result of the untimely deaths of Ray Railey and Alvin Freeman from the CVS outfit, The story is fast paced, action packed, and cinematic, but I have to make this distinction because these certainly aren't the characters that I love. We are stupid, Reed. 's black ops kill squad The New Ultimates and the Avengers teamed up and faced Gregory and his forces, in which Iron Man disabled Gregory's nanotech with a EMP, thus allowing Thor to fatally fry him with a lighting bolt. We see Tony Stark as an alcoholic. They're not Avengers. The remaining Ultimates are seen heading off on a space ship where Ultimate Tony Stark states they are "Hunting Makers." As the rest of team came to aid Iron Man and Hawkeye in the fight, the Defenders left with what they came for: At the same time, Captain America went to talk with Valkyrie about the Defenders. Nuff said. Later Hawkeye discovered that Tony and Carol were in a relationship when he spotted them having sexual relations. It was like the series was trying to create or formulate its own "conspiracy theories" within the comic book series itself, as the reader continually finds out that things are not quite what they seemed (at the time a particular event happens or conversation takes place). It was a bizarre, manipulative, love-hate-kinda relationship. The Ultimates originated from Captain Marvel's proposal of a proactive task force with the purpose of looking into potential threats and solve them before they could become a problem to Earth, applying nonviolent solutions whenever possible. The Ultimates is a superhero comic book series published by Marvel Comics and created by writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch, which first started publication from The Ultimates #1 (March 2002), as part of the company's Ultimate Marvel imprint. But I should have known seeing Mark Millar as writer.

It doesn't happen, though, which is sad to say. Learn where to read it, and check out the comic's cover art, variants, writers, & more! Everything else is just icing on the cake Beautiful panels check, interesting characters check, compelling story check. Despite this minor gripe, this is still a great story. For a long time I've been reluctant in reading The Ultimates. [It felt like the series was trying to aspire to be more than what it was and what it became. I still find it to be an interesting take on the Avengers - an attempt 'bring them into the modern world' by recreating them as if they were formed in the early 2000's. Only in Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four had they even hinted that all these characters existed in the same world. [right up until the aliens showed up, and then the space craft over Area 51. The Ultimates is modern and gritty. The Ultimates is often described as a "blockbuster," and Bryan Hitch's artwork is the main reason why. We're too stupid to know we're beaten.

It was enjoyable to most extent, but some sections were a bit shaky. That was very strange. Later the now-independent superhero team later gained new members including a more successful Enraged by the death of his son, Magneto dedicated himself to the utter annihilation of the human race, whilst being manipulated by Doctor Doom, a fact of which he was unaware. Granted, the implications are that it was the Skrulls the whole time who were trying to brain wash everybody and control everything by getting rid of 'free will' in order to make the Galaxy more peaceful, uniform, and productive. While in the "regular" Avengers the faults are mostly only mentioned, now they are full part of the story. [One last 'thought' - it is 'funny' how most of the stuff that happens in each series does not affect the other series that were going on at the time. The Ultimates brings The Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor) to the Ultimate Marvel universe and the result is one of the best titles Marvel have ever published in my opinion. It kept having these little 'elements' of 'conspiracy-theory "stuff"' going on in the background(s), be it words that are said or mysterious looks or answers not being given to questions. Done. Some parts definitely reminded me of the first avengers movie and i loved that.
