Overall, what will it take for all of us to agree that Stephanie Meyer sucks.

There's not very much passion on screen, which makes the film a poor cousin to Twilight.
A smartly made, highly entertaining ride, laced with a strange poignancy that makes it an all-around wonderful movie experience.

The acting, as well as Andrew Niccol's writing and direction, are all awful; I can't in good conscience recommend that anyone see this film. The Host Critics Consensus. July 27, 2020
Hee-bong is a man of modest means who runs a snack bar on the banks of the River Han. To enjoy the Host, one would have to ensure their tongue is lodged firmly in one's cheek as it is more of a black comedy than a horror film, but more of a classic B-movie above anything else. Most films with monsters that have been released Stateside, don't have that same appeal. Quarantine horror movie Host (2020) has scored a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after impressing critics. Made specifically for tween girls there's lot of mindless smoothing without rationale, after which our heroine slaps the guys for questioning her intent.
